Rizal van Geyzel is a Malaysian stand-up comedian, founder of the Crackhouse Comedy Club in Kuala Lumpur, and a single father of three. Known for his "rojak" (mixed) heritage—Dutch, Chinese, and Malay—he built a career on relatable observations about multicultural life in Malaysia.
He began performing in 2010 before co-founding Crackhouse in 2014, which became a cornerstone of Malaysia's comedy scene. His career took a dramatic turn following a high-profile legal battle; in 2022 he was arrested and jailed overnight for jokes regarding his Islamic heritage, an experience that inspired his acclaimed Edinburgh Festival Fringe show, "Arrested," which received a glowing 4-star review in Edinburgh.
Despite his legal troubles and the eventual closure of his club, he has performed internationally at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Kings & Queens of Comedy Asia. Today, he continues to tour, balancing his career with fatherhood while maintaining his signature warm and energetic stage presence.
