Started in 1992 as a home bible study group of 4 Christian musicians, Armando Chin Yong, Chu Shoo Woan, Angela Chock Yau Yen and Elaine Pao Yee Ling, then came the formation of “Musician Fellowship” after a year. Formally registered as Yin Qi Music Centre Bhd. , a non-profit-making company in 1994, and in 2022, registered as Yin Qi Sacred Music Organization, a non-profit organization. The objectives of Yin Qi are to serve God our Lord and Savior through sacred music, by promoting its quality and integrity in order to nurture the growth of church musicians and cultivate an environment to simulate the growth of sacred music. Through these years, by the providence of our Almighty God, Yin Qi had organized events ranging from oratorios, music performances, church music seminars, workshops, courses, hymns singing workshops, church choir camps, church music camps and biennial Sacred Music Festival since 2004, striving to promote sacred music and liturgy music that based on the teaching of the Bible, at its best in terms of standard and quality, in order to cultivate a good musical environment among the general public and churches.
Today, Yin Qi is led by its Artistic Director Caeleb Tee, Associate Conductor Ng Xing Yi, and Chairman Chan Shiann Miin to continue its mission in Malaysia to be a light for the Lord. The three core groups of the ministry are Yin Qi Choir, Yin Qi Youth Choir, and Yin Qi Children’s Choir. These choirs meet weekly to rehearse, and also actively perform Sacred Music in concerts and recordings, to impart the treasures of Sacred Music to the coming generations.
