Yin Qi Choir 音契圣乐团

Established in 1994, the Yin Qi Choir is one of Malaysia’s most prominent choral ensembles dedicated to the performance and promotion of sacred classical music. Comprising dedicated vocalists from various Christian denominations across the nation, the choir serves as a vital platform for the intersection of faith and high-level musical artistry within contemporary culture.

The choir is renowned for its commitment to technical excellence and spiritual depth, operating under the mandate to “sing with the spirit and with the understanding.” Through rigorous weekly training and a focus on both vocal unity and liturgical context, the ensemble has cultivated a reputation for delivering performances of profound integrity and emotional resonance.

For over three decades, the Yin Qi Choir has tackled the most demanding masterworks of the choral-orchestral canon. Its extensive repertoire includes definitive performances of:

Baroque & Classical Masterpieces: Handel’s Messiah, Bach’s St. Matthew Passion and Mass in B Minor, Mozart’s Requiem and Great Mass in C Minor, and Haydn’s The Creation.

Romantic & Contemporary Works: Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis and Symphony No. 9, and modern staples such as Rutter’s Requiem and Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna.

The ensemble has collaborated with a distinguished roster of conductors, including the late Armando Chin Yong, Elaine Pao, Dr. David Chin, and Dr. Wong Yau Sun, consistently performing alongside professional orchestras to bring the essence of these great works to the Malaysian public.

Currently under the artistic direction of acclaimed conductor and composer Caeleb Tee, the choir continues to push artistic boundaries. Recent highlights include performances of Haydn’s Mass in Troubled Times (Nelson Mass), as well as original compositions and arrangements by Tee, such as Consolation and the Glorious Night of Hymns series.

Beyond the concert stage, the Yin Qi Choir is a leader in musical education and outreach, organizing biennial Sacred Music Festivals, workshops, and seminars aimed at elevating the standard of music within local churches and the broader community. With a discography including albums such as Doxology and Hymns, the choir remains steadfast in its mission to preserve and impart the timeless treasures of sacred music to future generations.

音契圣乐团成立于1994年，是马来西亚最具影响力的合唱团之一，长期致力于推广与演出古典圣乐作品。圣乐团成员由来自全马各基督教宗派的优秀歌者组成，是当代文化中信仰与高水平音乐艺术融合的重要平台。

圣乐团以技术卓越与属灵深度着称，并坚持“以灵、以悟性歌唱”的宗旨。通过每周严格的训练，圣乐团不仅追求音色统一与音乐处理上的细腻，更注重歌者对崇拜礼仪内涵的理解。这种对艺术完整性的追求，使其在呈现音乐的神圣感与感染力方面享誉业界。

在过去的三十余年里，音契圣乐团挑战了多部合唱与管弦乐团编制中的巅峰之作。其丰富的演出经历涵盖了古典音乐史上的重要里程碑，其中包括：

巴洛克与古典时期杰作： 韩德尔的《弥赛亚》、巴赫的《圣马太受难曲》与《B小调弥撒曲》、莫扎特的《安魂曲》与《C小调大弥撒》，以及海顿的《创世记》。

浪漫主义与现代作品： 孟德尔颂的《以利亚》、贝多芬的《庄严弥撒》与《第九号交响曲》，以及当代名作如拉特的《安魂曲》和劳律森的《永恒之光》。

圣乐团曾与多位著名指挥家合作，包括已故著名男高音陈容老师、鲍以灵老师、陈子虔博士及黄佑新博士等，并常年与专业管弦乐团携手，将古典音乐的精粹呈献给马来西亚大众。

在现任艺术总监、指挥兼作曲家郑联晨老师的带领下，圣乐团继续开拓艺术边界。近年来的重要演出包括海顿的《困苦时期的弥撒》（又称《尼尔逊弥撒》），以及郑老师的原创作品与改编曲目，如《安慰之歌》和《荣耀圣诗夜》系列。

除了舞台演出，音契圣乐团也是音乐教育与社会推广的领导者。通过每两年举办一次的“圣乐节”、各类工作坊及讲座，乐团致力于提升本土教会及大众对音乐素养的追求。凭借《圣·诗·咏》和《赞美一神》等录制专辑，音契圣乐团始终坚守使命，将圣乐这份跨越时空的艺术瑰宝传承给下一代。
