Lai Jia Yun

Lai Jia Yun is a classical lyric soprano from Penang, Malaysia. She recently graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Music Performance from Sunway University, where she studied under renowned opera singer YiLing Chiang on a full Sunway Music Scholarship.

Jia Yun has performed at many prestigious events, including THE Asia University Summit, the British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards, the French Festival 2024, and BIJOUX FRANÇAIS III at Alliance Française de Kuala Lumpur. She was also invited to perform at Sunway Group’s “The Next 50 Years and Beyond”, an event attended by Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah and Tuanku Zara Salim.

In competitions, Jia Yun received a Special Mention at the Birmingham International Music Competition 2022, won First Prize at the 10th Hong Kong International Vocal Open Competition 2023, and earned the Bronze Prize at the Amadeus International Music Awards 2023.

With a passion for both classical and contemporary repertoire, Jia Yun continues to grow as a performer and share her love of music with audiences across Malaysia and beyond.
