Melvin Santana Anthony Taewishai

Melvin Santana Anthony Taewishai is a multidisciplinary artist whose Indian-Thai heritage profoundly informs his work as a performer, storyteller, and dancer.

He began his theatre journey at 18 under the mentorship of Master Ravi Shanker Rama Murthy at Asthana Arts, where he honed his skills in both dance and acting. Since then, he has brought life to productions such as Naduvan (Season 1 & 2), Silappathikaram, Salim-Anarkali, and Dasamahavidya, each role enriching his instinctive and expressive performance style.

Trained in classical Odissi under Guru Datuk Ramli Ibrahim, Melvin fuses discipline with vulnerability, delivering performances that embody both spiritual and physical intensity. He has also showcased his versatility in works like Jananam 5.0 and Marupadiyum Karma, reflecting his commitment to bridging tradition with contemporary expression.

His recent dance production, Radhe Radhe! The Sweet Surrender, created in collaboration with the Sutra Foundation, exemplifies his pursuit of innovative and soulful artistry. Beyond dance and theatre, Melvin has partnered with Zenith Music Productions on an upcoming music video, filmed entirely in Sabah, slated for release soon.
