Tokyo TDC Exhibition In Kuala Lumpur
KL Art Book Fair presents the Tokyo TDC Exhibition, a satellite event organized by KLABF and Tokyo Type Directors Club (TDC). It showcases over 130 selected works from the Tokyo TDC Annual Awards. The exhibition spans a diverse array of creative disciplines, including posters, editorial and book design, type design, logotypes, moving images, advertising, and experimental design. This event marks a significant milestone as these exceptional works will be displayed for the very first time in Malaysia and throughout Southeast Asia.
Tokyo TDC was established in 1987 by 89 Japanese graphic designers, under the invitation of Katsumi Asaba. The international competition "Tokyo TDC Annual Award" commenced in 1990 and has been held annually since then. Tokyo TDC focuses on the visualization of letters and words, exploring their potential as information, pictures, and sculptures. The organization prioritizes experimentation and the exchange of design values among designers.
