HARISH SHANKAR
Malaysian-born Harish Shankar is gaining international recognition for his exacting technique and passionate conducting. A prize winner at the 6th International Jorma Panula Conducting Competition, he is Chief Conductor of the Schleswig-Holstein Opera Company and has led renowned orchestras, including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, and Düsseldorfer Symphoniker. His recording with the Bridges Chamber Orchester Frankfurt earned a Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik. Passionate about music education, he has worked with El Sistema in Peru and helps children in conflict areas through music.
