Join us for this month of creativity and learning as we honour Jit Murad’s impact on Malaysian theatre.
Welcome to PLAY MEANS MAIN! – a playwriting tutorial by award-winning playwright Dr. Ann Lee, coordinated by Fasyali Fadzly (ASWARA).

This initiative continues Dramalab’s mission of developing original local voices by nurturing new generation of Malaysian storytellers. It provides a 'playground' for playwrights to refine their skills through structured guidance, practical exercises, and critical feedback, while exploring key elements of playwriting—particularly themes, structure, and character development relevant to Malaysian narratives.
The program encourages new and emerging playwrights to craft stories that reflect contemporary Malaysia, fostering a collaborative space where writers can engage with mentors, peers, and theatre practitioners to grow their craft.
*Please note: this is a 2 days workshop over two Saturdays from 10am to 5pm with a lunch break from 1pm - 2pm.
