Have you ever felt like you want your child to experience a great concert but don’t know where to begin? "Come Play With Me: A Classical and Jazz Concert for Families" is the perfect concert to introduce your child to the wonders of classical and jazz music.
This hour-long concert is designed for both children and adults, and is created and performed by the critically acclaimed, award-winning international pianist and vocalist, Dr. Esther Shin Chuang. "Come Play With Me" is a combination of Dr. Esther's "brilliant piano playing" (Kwong Wah Daily News), her insightful commentary on each musical piece, and a multidisciplinary performance featuring an international dancer as well as children's artworks. All dances for the concert have been newly choreographed by the critically acclaimed Aida Redza, one of Malaysia' leading contemporary dancers and choreographers.
Premiered at the 13th George Town Festival 2022 in Penang, this concert received raving reviews and was sold out in two days. It was attended and praised by none other than YAB Chow Kon Yeow, Chief Minister of Penang, who called the concert "absolutely enthralling." Kwong Wah Daily News hailed it as a "one-of-a-kind lively and interesting concert designed for all ages using music, ballet, and art, pleasing to the ears as well as the eyes." Now this concert is set to captivate audiences in the vibrant city of Kuala Lumpur!
Don't miss this chance for your child to experience a world class performance for the first time, and for adults to rediscover the magic of classical and jazz music in a refreshing light. As Dr. Esther plays beautiful classical piano music such as "Liebesträume (Dream of Love)" by Franz Liszt, “Carnival of the Animals” by Camille Saint-Saëns, as well as soulful jazz standards, let the music, dance, and art come alive, creating an unforgettable experience for the entire family. Join us and feel the joy of "playing" at this extraordinary concert as Dr. Esther "plays" the piano just for you. Come play with me!
