Hiperson live in Malaysia w/ Sweetass, Seru

Hiperson (海朋森) is a five-piece indie rock/post-punk/post-rock band formed in 2012 from Chengdu, China. The members are Wang Boqiang (drums), Huang Rentao (bass), Li Yinan (guitar), Chen Sijiang (vocals) and Liu Zetong (guitar).

Their songs often feature poetic passages, like spoken word fables, leading the listener through landscapes that oscillate between daily life and illusion. Expect a sense of the poetic narrative of contemporary literature mixed with the musical structure of hard-core punk and melodies of Chinese folk music. 
Unlike previous generations of Chinese musicians, these twenty-somethings reject the shackles of recent history, harkening back to the essential, sensitive, poetic golden age of rock’n’roll.

Their temperament of refreshing simplicity has led Hiperson on a path of rapid achievement. Frontwoman Chen Sijiang’s unique voice, brilliant and gorgeous as it is, does not draw the audience’s full attention away from Hiperson’s compelling bass-lines or the complex, precise rhythmic interplay between drums and guitar.
