James Long

James Long started his vocal training at the age of 16 and was admitted with a Full Scholarship to study at the Malaysian Institute of Art in 2003. He has also obtained both Performers’ Certificate with Distinction and ATCL certificate from Trinity College London.

Being an award winning singer, James has won numerous awards in various international and local singing competition, recent ones include:

● 2021 Silver winner of "ACCCIM 100th Anniversary Theme Song Competition."

● 2018 Gold winner of “4th Chin Yong Youth Vocal Competition”

He has performed in concert and musical throughout Malaysia and Asia, recent roles include :

● 2022 "Opera Serikandi Nusantara", Malay Contemporary Opera Series by Prof Dr Tazul Tajuddin

● 2021 OperaKul Opera Strikes Back series : "Star Track @ Roam", online opera concert with Soprano Tan Sin Sim, piano accompaniment by Dr. Bernard Tan

● 2019 As Baron Douphol in "La Traviata" by Verdi, KL City Opera Production

● 2014 Tenor Soloist of “Distant world - music from Final Fantasy” with Grammy Award-winning conductor Arnie Roth, Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) singing the role of Draco.

● World Premiere 2018 Medicine Buddha - the musical, as Master Yu Lin
