Dexter Zhen

DEXTER ZHEN is an actor and theatre practitioner whose work spans acting, movement, directing, and teaching. He seeks to create works that delve deeply into the raw human psyche. Dexter received his acting and movement training in California, United States, and completed his directing training through Theatresauce’s Emerging Directors Lab (EDL). He is the recipient for the Best Actor Award at the 2025 BMW Shorties.

Dexter has worked with Theatresauce, The Actors Studio/KLPAC, KongsiKL, lowercase laboratories, Howls Collective, Directors Think Tank, Aspect Ratio Studios (JinnyboyTV), Imagineers Film, PlayMonster, RTM.

In his free time, you can find Dexter meowing at stray cats, drinking iced matcha lattes despite being lactose intolerant, or bouldering with chalky hands.
