deena dakshini (she/they) is a neurodivergent tamil artist nesting in her rice bowl of writing.

as director to haiku: a neurodivergent harmony (2023), gasing (2024) and kairu (2025), both their film and theatre work delves into cultural dissociation, community history, and feminism.

deena’s exploration of theatre has revealed a profound connection to the stage, leading her to accept performing arts as her true calling. they are a part of hush the theatre’s resident actors programme 2025. deena is also founder of the local malaysian poetry community @toolismalaysia.
