Deena (she/they)

🪸 The lovechild of Puchong and Seremban, Deena Dakshini (she/they) is an interdisciplinary Tamil artist nesting in her rice bowl of writing.

As a filmwriter/director to Haiku: A Neurodivergent Harmony (2023), Gasing (2024) and Kairu (2025), both their film and theatre work delves into cultural dissociation, community history, and feminism.

Deena's exploration of theatre has revealed a profound connection to the stage, leading her to accept performing arts as her true calling. They are a part of Hush the Theatre's Resident Actors Programme 2025. Deena is also founder of the local Malaysian poetry community @toolismalaysia. 🪸
