Synopsis:

Sebuah penggambaran seni mengenai cerita tempatan Kedah, yang juga merupakan sebuah eksplorasi mendalam tentang hubungan antara manusia dan alam, manusia dan masyarakat, serta manusia dan diri sendiri. Melalui bentuk seni yang unik ini, penonton akan dapat mengalami sebuah perjalanan budaya yang indah secara visual dan spiritual.

舞作《遇見·嶼》PULAU简介

《遇見·嶼》是純粹舞團的一部长篇舞蹈作品，背景设定在马来西亚吉打州，亞罗士打的象屿山(Gunung Keriang)，透过丰富多元的故事情节，展现当地的文化故事。作品通过优美的舞蹈语，细腻描绘人与人之间的关系、日常生活中的信仰依赖，以及社区中传承的传统与习俗。

舞作以象屿山为开端，揭示出一个个动人心弦的故事，展现出人们在面对自然、生活、信仰与彼此关系时所流露的真情实感。通过舞者们的肢体表现，观众将被带入一个充满诗意与哲理的世，在美轮美奂的舞台设计与音乐氛围中，感受阿罗士打独特的文化魅力。

《遇見·嶼》不仅是对当地故事的艺术再现，更是一场关于人与自然、人与社会、人与自我之间关系的深刻探讨。通过舞蹈这一独特的艺术形式，观众将得以在视觉与心灵上经历一场美妙的文化之旅。

"Pulau" 

"Pulau" is a long dance piece by Ximply Dance Company, set against the backdrop of Gunung Keriang in Alor Setar, Malaysia, showcasing local cultural stories through a rich and diverse narrative. The work delicately portrays human relationships, the reliance on faith in daily life, and the traditions and customs passed down within the community through graceful dance movements.

Starting with Gunung Keriang, the dance reveals captivating stories that illustrate genuine emotions as people interact with nature, life, faith, and each other. Through the dancers' expressive movements, the audience is transported into a poetic and philosophical world, experiencing the unique cultural charm of Alor Setar within a beautifully designed stage and musical environment.

"Pulau" is not only an artistic representation of local stories but also a profound exploration of the relationships between humans and nature, society, and themselves. Through the unique art form of dance, the audience embarks on a wonderful cultural journey, engaging both visually and emotionally.

ABOUT XIMPLY DANCE:

Founded by Mr. Chia Kai Xian in June 2014, our group was established with the aim of rekindling the love for dance. Our mission is to promote cultural activities and nurture a diverse community of local dancers, spanning modern, contemporary, Street dances, and Culture dance forms.

Founder

Mr. Chia Kai Xian, M.A.

He is the Artistic Director of Ximply Dance Company and the founder of Ximply Arts Festival in Alor Setar, Malaysia. He graduated with first-class honors with a Bachelor of Arts (Dance) from Chinese Culture University in Taiwan. He also has a Master's Degree with distinction in dance from the University of Malaya, Malaysia. Chia is a well-known dancer/creator with extensive experience participating in various local and international events.

Among his achievements are being the Champion in the Chinese-Malaysian Dance Competition (Open Group) in 2016, 2017, and 2018, Best Choreographer Award in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023 Best Artist Contribution Award received at the Malaysian Chinese Culture Festival 36th in 2019, as well as being selected as one of the 5 Best Choreographers in the Bauhinia Hong Kong International Dance Competition held in 2016 and 2018. Chia has also been invited as a panelist and dancer in dance festivals organized in China, Japan, Greece, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Russia.
