D'MOTION 2025 - INTERNATIONAL GALA

Featuring acclaimed works from Taiwan, Korea, Hong Kong, and the UK, this special showcase presents five distinct contemporary duets exploring human connection, trust, and existence through the language of movement. Five duets, five distinct physical vocabularies, and five reflections on humanity, relationships, and existence — all inviting audiences to immerse themselves in a world of dance beyond borders.

Taiwan’s Hung Dance “Birdy”, recipient of the First Prize at the Burgos & New York International Choreography Contest in Spain, which blends elements of Tai Chi and contemporary dance, incorporating the traditional Peking Opera prop “Lingzi” (pheasant feathers) to explore themes of freedom and self-awareness through the imagery of birds in flight. Taiwan’s Hung Dance “Push & Pull”, winner of four Partner Awards at the 2025 Rotterdam International Duet Choreography Competition (RIDCC) and the Grand Prize and Audience Award at the 39th International Competition for Choreographers Hanover, fuses Tai Chi philosophy with physics, seeking balance in the tension between pull and support through fluid, ice-skating-inspired duet techniques, delicately portraying the dynamics of human relationships. Other featured works include festival selection from Hong Kong Dance Exchange “Block”, awarded Silver at the Polish International Choreography Competition, which humorously uses a table to reflect the endless push-and-pull of human connections; “In the Absence” by the UK National Dance Award-winning company PCK Dance,  a poetic meditation on the journey of life through drifting paper fragments; and “Trust”, a work by the Artistic Director of the Daegu City Dance Company from Korea, a powerful and explosive display of Korean contemporary dance techniques offering a fresh perspective on building trust between individuals.

来自台湾、韩国、香港及英国 5 部当代表演作品，风格鲜明，透过舞蹈探索人与人之间的关系与信任。五部双人舞作品，五种身体语言，五段关于人性、关系与存在的叩问，邀你一同沉浸在无国界的舞蹈艺术世界中。

荣获西班牙布尔戈斯及纽约国际编舞大赛一等奖的台湾翃舞制作舞团作品《Birdy》，融合太极与当代舞蹈元素，巧妙运用传统京剧道具“翎子”，以鸟类振翅为灵感，探索自由与自我觉知；台湾翃舞制作舞团的《Push & Pull》荣获2025年鹿特丹国际双人编舞大赛（RIDCC）四项合作伙伴奖及第39届汉诺威国际编舞大赛冠军与观众票选奖，作品结合太极哲学与物理力学，展现如溜冰般流畅的双人舞技巧，细腻描绘人际关系中的推与拉；在波兰国际编舞大赛夺下银奖的香港比舞年度精选作品《Block》，利用桌子诙谐地展现人际关系中拉扯与推挤的喋喋不休；来自英国国家舞蹈奖得主 PCK Dance 舞团的《In the Absence》，以纷飞纸屑，诗意探索“人生前行”的意义；以及来自韩国大邱市舞蹈团艺术总监的作品《Trust》，以极具爆发力的韩国式舞蹈技巧，传递两个个体建立信任的新锐视角。

D’MOTION International Dance Festival 2025

Presented by Damansara Performing Arts Centre (DPAC) and curated by MyDance Alliance, the long-awaited D’MOTION International Dance Festival returns this October! This exciting festival brings together local and international dance artists through a dynamic line-up of performances and special programs, continuing its mission to foster cross-disciplinary and cross-cultural exchange through the art of dance.
