This is more than a workshop, it is a speculative and interrogative experience. Drawing from inflection points in the histories of both Malaysia and Singapore, the experience will encourage contemplation of our shared past, present and future.

關於

63-65: Notes from a Separation is a performance workshop exploring parliamentary, archival and speculative documents on the separation between Singapore and Malaysia.

Engage in participatory activities and dialogue involving parliamentary speeches from Hansard and national archives, props and other relevant materials from 1963 to 1965.

This is more than a workshop, it is a speculative and interrogative experience. In the absence of written records, participants are invited to speculate on what might have happened through generative technology. Drawing from inflection points in the histories of both countries, the experience will encourage contemplation of our shared past, present and future.

It has been nearly 60 years since the separation, yet this period continues to arrest imaginations. Talks on declassifying the Albatross files, which document discussions leading up to the separation, remind us how closely intertwined Singapore and Malaysia still are today.
