海鸥 The Seagull

 

被作者契诃夫自称为四幕喜剧的《海鸥》，讲述了乡下庄园生活中几对错位的爱情：母亲是名演员的青年科斯佳渴望成为作家，他爱慕的少女妮娜则幻想着舞台的荣耀与爱情的幸福。科斯佳的处女作在湖畔边上搭建的小舞台首次上演，却在母亲的嘲讽中失败落幕，而担任女主角的妮娜则爱上了同来观看的母亲的情人——著名作家鲍里斯，并一路追随他到莫斯科；默默爱着科斯佳的管家女儿玛莎，最后嫁给了普通教员。两年后，科斯佳的母亲和著名作家回到了庄园度假，而失去孩子的妮娜也在此时归来，与科斯佳重逢。

“The Seagull” which the author Chekhov referred to as a four-act comedy, tells the story of several misaligned love affairs in a rural estate setting: Kostya, a young man whose mother is an actress, aspires to become a writer. The girl he admires, Nina, dreams of the glory of the stage and the happiness of love. Kostya’s debut play, staged on a small platform by the lake, ends in failure amidst his mother’s mockery. Meanwhile, Nina, who plays the leading role, falls in love with her mother’s lover, the famous writer Boris, and follows him to Moscow. Masha, the housekeeper’s daughter, silently loves Kostya but ends up marrying a common teacher. Two years later, Kostya’s mother and the famous writer return to the estate for vacation, and Nina, who has lost touch with her child, also returns, reuniting with Kostya.
