Liishvaar

Liishvaar is a Malaysian actor and director with a strong foundation in theatre and film. A Performing Arts graduate from Sunway University, he also works as a photographer and content creator while actively contributing to Malaysia’s performing arts scene as an actor, director, and stage manager. Alongside his creative practice, he is engaged in creative education, having facilitated workshops in photography, videography, and website design, with plans to expand his workshop programmes across photography, film, performance, and production fundamentals.

He directed the award-winning short film Engal Vidhi (Our Fate) (2024) and has worked with various notable theatre companies including Theatresauce, Five Arts Centre, Liver & Lung, Parastoo Theatre, Tapir Studios, Pentas Project Theatre Production, and more, taking on a range of creative and technical roles. As a performer, he made his stage debut in Discord/Discard by Theatresauce, directed by Kelvin Wong, as part of the Yayasan Sime Darby Arts Festival (YSDAF) 2023, followed by his film debut as the lead actor in Punch Arumugam (2025).

He is currently writing and directing Naraksha, A traditional dance-theatre collaboration between artists from Penang and Kuala Lumpur, premiering in February 2026. Based in Kuala Lumpur, Liishvaar continues to explore storytelling across multiple mediums while pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Digital Film Production at Sunway University.
